What is your favorite Ice-Cream flavor?

Dear R.G.

A long time ago, when we were about 12 we had an argument about ice cream flavors. At that time we were particularly dramatic tweeners and found meaning in the most inocuous of things. If I recall correctly we were talking about how our taste in ice cream reflected both our differences and our similarities. You liked plain vanilla and I loved Almond Chocolate. Exact opposites, maybe, but still completely able to get along with each other and sometimes even better together.

In recent months, these horrible months after our falling out, you claimed you had no preference for vanilla. Now, friend, this is one of my most vivid memories of you and I can only imagine that either, a) Your taste in ice cream has changed or b) My memories betray me.

Why is this important? Because I still have notes written in classrooms where we make the whole ice cream analogy. And because this is important stuff for me. Like I used to tell you, you can find out a lot of big stuff from the little things.

Or something.

Please reply. At home, when you can spend a few minutes thinking about it.

The End Is The Beginning Is The End

Dear Readers:

This is a story about a girl. Of course there are plenty of stories about girls. This one in particular, though, happens to be about one of the most brilliant, loyal, earnest, strong and beautiful girls in the world. There are a lot of stories about that too. This one might or not be particular in some respect or other. Time will tell and you will judge.

This girl, henceforth to be known as R.G., is someone I once knew very, very well. Now it feels as though I know the person she used to be more than the person she's become. I've come to realize that I don't particularly like this.

So how to solve this?

I proposed twenty questions. She may or may not accept, but I will post the questions, nevertheless. Just as I will continue to post about the not-non-adventurous story of our friendship.

And there is quite a story there. And I hope you will indulge me in saying that you will enjoy it.
